Our family has been blown away by how quickly and efficiently Ms. Mary has jump-started our son’s love of music and the piano!

I love seeing my daughter recognize songs and notes or play instruments elsewhere because she’s learning music, not just piano.
— Ashley, Studio Parent
I loved seeing how Ms. Mary differentiated the lessons - based on their personalities, interests, and skill levels. She did an amazing job keeping piano interesting for them.

Meet Ms. Mary

At Zimmerman Piano Studio, Ms. Mary brings a lifelong love of music and a passion for joyful learning to every class she teaches. Her musical journey began at a young age with piano and grew to include clarinet, violin, and singing in choirs. After earning a degree in Piano Performance from University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, Mary discovered a deep enthusiasm for teaching and helping students experience music in meaningful and lasting ways.

With more than ten years of piano teaching experience, Mary is especially passionate about group piano instruction and recreational music-making. She believes students learn best when music is active, engaging, and shared with others. Through ensemble playing, movement, listening, creativity, and whole-body learning, students develop strong musical understanding while building confidence, friendships, and a genuine love of music.

Mary’s teaching is influenced by the principles of audiation, the ability to hear and understand music internally. She incorporates movement and multi-sensory learning into her lessons to support all types of learners. By combining seeing, hearing, moving, and playing, students are able to grasp musical concepts more naturally and joyfully.

Whether working with young beginners or adult learners, Ms. Mary creates a warm and encouraging environment where every student can grow as a musician and experience the delight of making music together.
